Amazing Unusual Temple in Thailand, Free Entry Oct 18, 2014
This is the first temple I made an effort to go see in Thailand as I got a bit "templed out" in Bali, lol. It was well worth the trip as it is stunning...and a bit creepy at the same time. It is only 16 years old and still very much under construction as many buildings have yet to be decorated with the intricate designs so amazingly done in the main temple. You will see workers around the grounds tiling away on various structures. It is privately owned by an artist...hence how he gets away with the creepy at a Buddhist temple and I was in awe of his work and planning throughout the grounds. The artist is himself a millionaire and a Thai Buddhist monk who put his own money up to fund the project.. There is no fee to get in, though donations are accepted for continued work. This is apparently the most visited temple in Thailand having had over 5 million visitors. I would HIGHLY recommend a visit here, even if you are not into temples. It is an hour or two (or more) well spent!
Possibly the worlds fanciest free …
