The 'Wat' as it is affectionately known by many locals is a Thai Buddhist temple. They hold a 'Sunday Market' every week from about 10:30 to 1:30 with a bunch of stalls set up selling Thai food and drink for super cheap. Thai tea is $1, pumpkin curry is $5, etc. They also have a huge selection of desserts...around 20-25 different ones. The spring rolls are delicious as well. Picnic table are set up in the area between the temple and the river but be warned that the competition for the shady tables can be fierce, despite there being about 40 of them.

Visitors are allowed in the temple as long as they remain respectful of the fact that people are trying to worship. Also, there is a smaller market set up near the river that sells native plants and fruit. They have some gorgeous orchids and pitcher plants.

It's a interesting way to spend a Sunday afternoon and definitely one of Tampa's better kept secrets.
