The Washington Hotel is in Clifton, ideal for the student quarters and not far at all from the city centre. It's about a £20 taxi ride from the airport, which is why I was there.

I stayed in a cheap room without its own bathroom, which I did on purpose, and most rooms are ensuite. The room was clean, and there was a comfy bed and - this impressed me - real coffee with a cafetiere, and loose leaf tea, and free fruit. The decor was very old school in the room - a bit tatty, annaglypta wallpaper and green carpet - but really, when you have loose leaf tea, who cares?

The reception staff were extremely friendly and nice. There is room services, but I went down and got my own drink just because they were so nice. The lounge is more modern in decor.

I would definately go back.
