With a population of around 30,000 Warrnambool is one of the larger towns along the Western section of the Great Ocean Road.
During the summer months the population expands with Victorians taking their holidays along the beach although the winter months can be very cold.
Beaches around Warrnambool are popular with surfers and whale watchers. The area around Logan Beach is known for its 'whale nursery' as female Right whales use the area to breed and raise their young.
The easiest ways to get to Warrnambool are either by car or train although many bus lines service the town.
