If you're looking for a good place to stay in Beijing, Wangfujing Youth hostel is a good choice. The staff are so sweet and helpful, the beds are really comfortable and it's a great place to meet other travellers. Connected to the hostel there's a Travellers Café, with tasty international food. A good place to just hang out and talk, have a drink or whatever.

They have laundry service, which is quite cheap. You pay by the pound of clothes. Internet access with 4 working machines and a travellers desk, where you can book tours within Beijing (The Great Wall, Hutongs, the Peking Opera etc.).

It's a great location too, and quite easy to find, if you just know that it's located on the backside of Taiwan Hotel. From the hostel there's only a 15 minutes walk to The Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. Easy to get a taxi, and there's buses running near by. The metro is also close by.

For a booking during the 2008 Olympic Games, the following pre-payments must take place: 10% of the total cost of the booking - the deposit taken by the website company - must be paid at the time of the booking. The remaining amount (90% of the total cost of your reservation) must be paid before within two weeks of the booking. Cancellation policy: 50% of the total value of the reservation will be charged if the cancellation takes place before 1 June 2008.
