Wangfujing Grand Hotel Beijing

The Beijing Wangfujing Grand Hotel (Beijing Wangfujing Fandian) has a superb location in the heart of Beijing's commercial and shopping district and has easy access to the major scenic spots including Tian'anmen Square and the Forbidden City.

I was especially taken by the walks in the evening along the Wangfujing with the bright commercial lighten the whole street up.

The 14-floor hotel is fairly large with 400 rooms and the service level was very high; I will not forget the first morning I left the room for breakfast and when I opened the door there was a floor portier greeting me and wishing me a good morning and asking if I wanted our beds maid while we were eating breakfast!

All rooms are equipped with broadband internet access via a data port and international satellite TV channels, but I enjoyed watching the Chinese channels a lot; especially the commercials which broke every marketing rule by promising effects if you bought their products.

The hotel has a good Chinese Restaurant where you can have all sorts of surprises; I managed to have duck tongue, frogs, turtle, chicks’ feet and many other things. The hotel has also a Korean barbecue restaurant and a Western restaurant. It also has a great indoor swimming pool, fitness centre and sauna.

I can only conclude that the standards of the Wangfujing Grand Hotel are hard to beat and I had really pleasant stay, this hotel enjoys an unparalleled location which allows for walks to a cluster of cultural and historical sites and facilities.
