We really love Wanaka!

As I mentioned in my previous blog, the busdriver told us that highway 6 is more beautiful than the Great Ocean Road in Australia. So far what I have seen of highway 6 hasn't surpassed the beauty of the Great Ocean Road. However, that has changed today. The Kiwi bus drove us from Franz Josef&n…

Our intention was to continue to Wanaka, but as we came closer, Queenstown drew us in yet again, where we had unfinished business. We set about planning our action packed afternoon, but started off with a big buffet lunch at the top of the Skyline Gondola with beautiful views over the lake. After l…

Hangover in full force we arrived in Wanaka to stay in a lovely hostel. It was basically a hotel where they had changed one wing so it had two bunk beds in each room and we had tv and en-suite. Wanaka was very beautiful and had a lovely lake.
Went for an all you can eat BBQ at a local pub and play…

a map and some photos of my slightly unplanned trip around the world. The map outlines the general route I took, not counting the backtracking and double visits.
Currently I am scanning some photos of this trip, but be patient, there are a lot of them!
Argentina - Chile - Easter Island - French Polynesia - New Zealand - Australia - Bali - Hong Kong - Macau - Singapore

What better way to relax then enjoying a sunny
day in the wonderful resort town of Wanaka. Kayaking to ruby
island is not only great exercise but includes breath taking views of the
mountains. Note to self just because the island appears close doesn’t mean it
is. Make sure you give your…

Ate breakfast in the cafe downstairs - the Cheeky Monkey Cafe - and then drove to Puzzling World. It's a series of rooms with various illusions and a giant maze, definitley worth a quick wander round. Then it was on to Cromwell for a stop at a cafe before continuing to Queenstown.
