Lucky me, I got the opportunity of spending my winter holiday in Wanaka and Cadrona. The atmosphere in Wanaka, which is so small that it reminded me of my home village, was absolutely awesome. The deep and freezing Lake Wanaka was one of my my favourite spots. The water was crystal clear so that …

I volunteered to help out with the Wanaka Challenge today! I got to my post at 1:30pm and was there until 11pm. I'm so lucky I was paired up with Louise....we had so much fun cheering on all the runners. I made a sign that …

Next stop with the Green Kiwi Express: Wanaka. A beautiful but rather small laketown on New Zealand's South Island, but the one stop I had been waiting for since I arrived in Christchurch. I had a mission in Wanaka, a dream to fullfill: to fly an airplane.
My first flying experience was when I was…

Another beautiful day, I woke up feeling refreshed and headed off for Wanaka. Went to town and wandered around a bit. I stopped to use the internet as I was still waiting to see if my visa had gone through and luckily it had. After the internet I grabbed a coffee and headed to the W…

It was early again. I woke up at about 6.30am because I had to leave at 8.10am to take the bus to Wanaka. It's just a busride of 1.5 hour, but on the way to this place we made a small stop.
This was a fruitstore. I didn't buy fruit but it was fun to see that they do have this in the middle of now…

Still on our way to Queenstown we reached a T junction. Queenstown to the left & Wanaka to the right.
We decided that as it was close to lunchtime and it wasn't far into Wanaka, we went to the right. We figured that it wouldn't take long to back track. We drove into Wanaka and instantly fell …

Ok, so the first week has been pretty chilled travel-wise in the South Island but the current few days are pretty intensive. On Saturday morning we left Abel Tasman National Park and by Monday night we'll be near Milford Sound - probably about 1300km's worth of driving. Given all the twisty and t…

So this is our 2.5 year trip!! One year on the long and bumpy road of South and Central America. Our second year started off with 12 weeks in New Zealand, then we headed to Australia! Eagerly clutching our working holiday visas we stayed in Australia for one year for work and travel. The last leg of our 30-month trip was 3.5 months in SE Asia.
(We are home now and oh how we miss travelling!)

After we came off the glacier we jumped straight into the car and headed for Wanaka, it was a long drive in the rain so didn't stop for much, just a few spectacular rapids and view points along the coast (knight's point, photos to follow, honest.)
Wanaka is a tinysky resort on …

There's basically only one thing to do here and it involves snow. OK so there's two things, Skiing AND snowboarding. On the roads out of Wanaka town there are even a sort of busstops where kids line up for a ride to one of the ski areas. My first plan was actually to do a skydive above the lake here…

This is my Bog Blog!
Call them whatever you like:
dunnies, pissers, gravy bowls, pissoirs, porcelain caves, potties, loos, crappers, dumpers, shitters, outhouses, throne, bogs, longdrops, WC's.
As much as we dont want to think about it, even good looking girls have to crap every day!
The vast array of toilets in the world have fascinated me for a long time.
This blog will be continuously updated as long as I continue to travel the world and wake up needing to hang a dump.
