Walters Art Museum
Walters Art Museum Reviews
The Walters art museum, Baltimore Mar 23, 2008
What I like about this museum is the location. It is located at Charles Str.,in Baltimore's historic area. You could plan to visit the museum and dine out at nearby restaurant. (There are many choices of restaurants at Charles Str.- Italian, Indian, Thai, American, Afghan etc) The museum opens from Wed to Sun and it's free admission except the special exhibition. They also provide free guide and audio guide.
They have a collection representing an overview of world art from pre-dynastic Egypt to 20th-century Europe. There are lots of Greek sculptures, Roman sarcophagi, old paintings, and 19th-century European and American masterpieces. When I visited last time in 2004, they still had a collection of Asian art. We skipped this section because we've seen a lot from our hometown. Overall was great. |
