Walt Disney Concert Hall Reviews
The Walt Disney Concert Hall Aug 10, 2009
The Walt Disney Music Hall is right in the midst of downtown LA. A few years back there was not much to do in the downtown area, however, thanks to a lot of renovations you can spend a nice evening in middle of it all. The Disney Music hall is an architectural gem, both inside and out. Outside the structure is amazing with the silver curved lines that are in no way symmetrical. You could spend quite a bit of time outside the structure observing it in amazement. The inside the Music Hall is even more amazing. The whole place looks like if it is made of hard wood and the acoustics are awesome. No matter what performance you see, or where you sit, you will be treated by some extraordinary sounds. The last time I was here, I saw Andras Schiff, a Hungarian pianist. Our seats were in the top balcony. And event though I was quite away from the stage, I could hear every note and could see his fingers move across the keyboard.
During the intermission of the performance be sure to walk around the Music Hall. Take a walk along the spiraling staircases and enjoy the red carpet. There are bars on every floor, so you can enjoy a glass of wine between the performances. This is a great way to spend the evening especially during a cool autumn or winter night. It’s indoors and you’ll be treated with great music. The performances are mostly classical in nature, however, if you check the schedule, you may find a good jazz, world or electronic event.
Outside the Walt Disney Concert …

The LA Philharmonic now plays at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. This hall is definitely worth seeing, whether you attend a performance (average $100) or just take a tour ($20). The architecture is unique, fresh and a modern marvel. The seating arrangement is very peculiar, with seating on all 4 sides as well as the floor in a pattern somewhat reminiscent of an ark...
I went this past weekend and had my first celebrity sighting in quite a while! (Damn being stuck in a corporate office!) I walked down the stairs behind the girl who played Libby on LOST. =) |

And
so we did, too and passed some more interesting architectural
highlights, such as the Frank Gehry´s Walt Disney Concert Hall. Einst
hat die Union Station wohl eine Million Passagiere am Tag erlebt, aber
heute wirkte dieses Gebäude sehr verlassen. Man nimmt halt lieber das

We headed to the Walt Disney Concert Hall. I found out later that the WDCH was a part of the music center made up of 4 distinct buildings. We actually got a bit of exercise as the Hall was uphill from the pillow fight and once there… Getting Beat up never Felt so Good |

The next point of real interest is the Walt Disney Concert Hall, a building which you can not miss with its shiny tin foil exterior.
The tour finishes after passing City Hall and through China town, if you've not got a lot of time in LA it's not really worth… Downtown LA |
