Wals Vacation Guide
About 11,000 inhabitants are counted in Wals. It is one of the largest and also richest towns in Austria. There are many farmhouses which give the town a special flair. There are different parts of the town which are the industrial part, the shopping part and of course the largest one, where people enjoy their lives.
Wals is only about 15 minutes outside of Salzburg but it feels like somewhere in the country. The Saalach river is also the border to Germany and only a few bridges guide you to the other side.
A new shopping center complex, or rather factory outlet center will open in fall 2009 (as planned). Also the airport of Salzburg is right on the border to Wals so it is only minutes from the hotels in Wals to get to the airport.
The idyllic landscape is very diverse and allows you to relax in many places. All in all, Wals is a very nice town and a great place to stay if you'd like to see Salzburg and its surroundings.
