Walker's Point Kennebunkport Reviews
Walker's Point Mar 28, 2012
An easy landmark to visit from Kennebunkport is Walker’s Point, the famed summer home of George H. W. Bush. It is easy to find – just hang a right onto Ocean Avenue in Kennebunkport off of the main drag (route 9). You will wind past pretty B&B’s and resorts as you exit town and then twist along a dramatically rocky coast for a mile or so before you glimpse Walker’s Point jutting out into the Atlantic (can’t miss it).
There is a fair amount of free parking provided (though it is posted that you may only remain fifteen minutes) along the ocean side of the road, though this can be packed during peak season. A recommended stop, only because it is free and convenient. A stunning spot on the coast and the sprawling compound is impressive, though you really can’t make too many details out. The upside is that you can take this spot in with a minimal time investment, snap a few photos and press on.
There is an interesting anchor monument dedicated to President Bush at the end of the parking strip (at the end farthest from Walker's Point).
