Wal Bach Caernarfon Reviews
Great tapas bar Aug 03, 2013
After the entire day of hiking Snowdown mountain, it was time for a relaxing early dinner before heading back to Rhyl.
We came across this tapas bar and restaurant while wondering the streets of the town in search of nice food place. And it is conveniently located within a stone throw away from World Heritage site - Caernarfon Castle.
When we arrived, the place was no very fool which was good news since it meant quick service.
We got welcomed on our arrival and food recommendations of the best dishes were made before we even sat at the table. The menu was very varied and presented good of choice of tapas dishes.
We decided to order few and share them to be able to try different tapas.
Our order consisted of:
Ciabatta with olive oil and balsamic dip
Pita bread served with hummus and tzatzki for dipping
Crispy squid deep fried in our own batter, sprinkled with Halen Mon sea salt, served with lemon and coriander mayo
Baby prawns sauteed in garlic butter, smoked paprika, lemon and parsley
Spinach cooked with pine nuts sultanas and sherry
Wal Bach dog - sausage with homemade coleslaw, jalapenos and chilli mayo
Wild giant mushroom
The meal was a real feast with lots of great tasty food which we barely managed to finish.
I must say that this is by far the best tapas bar in UK and would definitely re-visit the place next time I'm in the area.
Total paid per person with drinks - average of £20.
