Cool, clean and comfortable Apr 24, 2012
Pretty easy going Hostel with a lot of things to do. Everybody is very friendly and welcoming. The beds are OK. Lockers within the rooms (Make sure to bring your own lock) and provided linens, so that was nice.
Location is amazing. Right across from the Central station. Only problem was the Wi-Fi fee was a little high. :-| but there's a cafe right on the edge on Pitt Street where there's free wi-fi. Whew! Overall, I recommend it for a quick stay in Sydney. |

BEST HOSTEL AROUND! Apr 20, 2011
Best hostel i've stayed in for sure. Great facilities, big and clean rooms, great bar downstairs for meeting people, 2 seconds away from central station, 15 mins walk to opera house/darling harbour. going back to oz later this year and will DEFINATELY be staying here.

Secure, clean, good location Mar 17, 2010
Wake Up! Hostel in Sydney was definitely a great place for my first hostel experience. It was very secure with key cards you had to swipe to get in after hours, and for the elevator lift to get to your floor.
The cafe/bar food was pretty good for the price and the bar below the hostel was a definite added value. The bar itself isn't special, but the ability to meet other travelers and crawl back up to your room upstairs is unbeatable. Being on the first floor you could hear the party down below, so that was a slight annoyance, but it was nothing a pair of ear plugs couldn't cure. The location is right across from central station (great plus) but quite a walk to the harbor, although not impossible. Altogether a perfectly fine place! |

Clean, Safe, and Fun! Jun 01, 2009
I stayed at Wake Up! for three nights and had a blast. It was very clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. The location was nice, as it was right across from the train station, but I ended up walking everywhere anyways. They also offer a free guided city walk, which is a nice way to get aquatinted with the area. It was a little on the pricy side, but it's a very modern and safe hostel, so I think it's worth it. The best thing about Wake Up! for me was the bar. I met a lot of amazing people in that bar, and they had food and drink specials, as well as live music when I was there. Every night something different was happening, and it was perfect for a solo traveler such as myself. Highly recommend!

Friendly Mar 31, 2009
I got two nights free in Wake up! when i bought a particular package from STA in 2006. First impressions were good. It was busy and the staff were very friendly. Particular highlights were the bar and its great location in proximity to Sydney central station and the city as a whole. I highly recommend it

Lively fast paced hostel Feb 06, 2008
Definitely the most popular and well known hostel in Sydney. Easy to meet people, fantastic location for all the sights, the train station (which is right opposite) with easy access to all the suburbs and beach. The cleanest of all hostels, modern, colourful. However on the higher end of costs compared to most hostels. Its worth staying here even for just a few nights as you will meet alot of people with the same agenda - looking for a job and place to live. The travel desk gives you some great discounts on excursions if you are staying there too. Also each day there are free activities to participate in, they do a free city walk - great for meeting people, snorkelling trip, beach walk and they have one of the best backpacker bars in sydney - Sidebar. Lively with good music everynight, good live band night, wont disappoint.

Oliver. You’re late! Carl barked at me. We had scheduled a meeting to run through the current situation on the recruitment sales pipeline. I checked my watch…wake up periodically to ask the Thai man next to me if we had reached Krabbi yet. No about 2 hours more… The journey took 4 hours! Fuck… |
