Waikiki Vacation Guide
Waikiki is located on the south side of Honolulu, the largest city of O'ahu, and also in the chain of the Hawaiian Islands. Known as one of the world's most famous beaches, Waikiki was made famous to Americans, in part, because it attracted celebrities such as Elvis & Marilyn Monroe to it's oldest and most prestigious resort, the Royal Hawaiian.
During the day beaches are busy with guests & locals alike soaking up the sun which shines nearly every day of a calendar year. The cooler nights in Waikiki come alive with a variety of restaurants, bars, & live music.
Most restaurants are casual & include plenty of foot traffic straight off the beach, such as Duke's Canoe Club and Cheeseburger in Paradise.
You can also browse through the hundreds of shops lining the streets, including top-name designers. Saturday & Sunday nights, "Sunset on the Beach" shows free movies on a 30 ft. screen.
International Marketplace is the best souvenirs place.
Try surfing in the hottest place to board in the U.S. The Waikiki Beach Boys offer surfing lesson & board rentals right on the beach. Keep an eye out for sea turtles.
The Honolulu Zoo and aquarium are favorites for kids while Diamond Head offers some spectacular views.
Hotels during off-peak season are quite reasonable, with excellent location hotels 1 block from the beach for as cheap as $70 a night.
Morning kona coffee & fresh pineapple is easy to find at any of the 50 ABC drugstores on every block.

Our flight
from of Honolulu was due out at 0915 this morning so we had an early start to
be at the airport 2 hours prior to check in. We packed, paid our bill at the
hotel last night and returned the hire car yesterday as well, so all we needed
to do this morning was roll out of bed, shower, pu…

I'm beginning to think there was something wrong with my camera. I don't have many photos from my last couple of days back in Waikiki either. To be honest, I think I may have just been very relaxed and enjoying the last few days of my lovely honeymoon. Soaking up the sun, soaking up th…

So sad. Last day in Waikiki as my flight was at 10pm. Weather was bad and gas in car was low. My favorite quote of the trip "All I want is to get to Lanikai without using any gas!" Truly didn't know what to do on this last day. Couldn't figure out how to go East on H1 from Waikiki. Didn't get to sa…
