Waikiki Resort Hotel Reviews
Best Deal in Waikiki! Apr 01, 2008
I stayed for two beautiful weeks in the Waikiki Resort hotel in Hawaii and couldn't have been more pleased. It wasn't exactly fancy, but it was clean and had a beautiful view of Waikiki beach and Diamond Head. It is located a half block from the beach and within walking distance of tons of shopping and dining. Oh, and the price. I booked through the hotel's website and got a special for $82 a night! Can't beat it, especially in Waikiki where your typical not-fancy hotel goes for at least $200/night. The staff is friendly enough and very helpful. I didn't bother with the restaurant because it was a bit pricey (but the Sunday brunch in the hotel across the street is definitely worth a splurge!) Also, if you stay at this hotel and are looking for an awesome surfing instructor, walk about 2 blocks west (just before the King's Cross shopping plaza) and talk to Eric Lillmars. He gave a great lesson, I got up on my third wave (and many subsequent ones!) and he probably stayed out there for an extra hour with me at no extra charge! He really wants you to learn and love surfing! But I digress. Simply, this hotel isn't going to be a super romantic, upscale place but if you're going to Hawaii on a budget, you can't beat it. I will most certainly stay there again if (when) I return to Oahu.

Affordable Hotel on Waikiki Strip Dec 07, 2006
I was on a tight budget when I went to Waikiki.
I learned that i could save a ton of cash if I stayed at a hotel that wasn't right on the beach. The "Waikiki Resort Hotel" is only a half a block from the famous Waikiki beach. The rooms are pretty basic but clean and you can't beat the price. When booking I actually told them I was going there on my Honeymoon so I could get a room upgrade. When we showed up they actually had a sign in front of the elevators "Congratulating Mr & Mrs Angelucci" Highly recommend if your vacationing on a budget. |

I'm right in the heart of town too (see my review of the Waikiki Resort Hotel). Got freshened up and walked around a bit. Hadn't eaten anything but jerkey for 18 hours (no layover to eat). Had a combo plate at a Korean BBQ takeout joint in the international marketplace. Not bad but a bit weird… Day 1: Continued |
