Waiheke Island Vacation Guide
Waiheke Island, a small but quite popular island among national and international tourists, is located at the Hauraki Gulf east of Auckland and west of Coromandel Peninsula.
Once upon a time Waiheke Island belonged to a mountain area around the North Island but after being swallowed by the last Ice Age the mountain became a pretty island.
Today this island is known as a so called Recreation Island, which offers lovely beaches like Oneroa and Palm Beach, fun water sports and varied walking tracks. Family fun is guaranteed.
Regular ferry transport brings you from Auckland (Ferry Building) to the island and back.

i've put new zealand in second place after lucern, switzerland on my list of places to live after ks. new zealand was unbelievably GORGEOUS! i was truly impressed by the ethnic diversity, extraordinary flora and fauna, extensive marine resources, dramatic and varied landscape and the people were very friendly as well. i will definitely go back and check out other areas i didn't get to visit.
