Vung Tau Beach Aug 15, 2009
I give 5 marks for overall rating but 5 marks for cost too. It sounds to be illogical but it is true!

I have been to Vung Tau about one month ago before my birthday. I was very surprised and impressed by this place. When I was in Hanoi, I thought this place should be small, dirty and boring. However, everything was different when I got there. It is just about 100km from Saigon and going there is not difficult because you can travel by bus or hydrofoil. The beach is so beautiful and clean, it is a very long beach too. People there divided it into Bai Truoc, Bai Sau & Bai Giua (it means: front beach, back beach and middle beach), I heard that there are other beaches too. Although I did not have chance to swim because I am busy visiting other places ( and I cannot swim too :-)) but I saw a lot of people swimming and playing on the beach. The street along the beach is really nice. It is known as the most beautiful street in Vietnam (2009 award). The special thing about this street is that it is made from granite which is a very precious type of stones in Vietnam. At daylight, the beach and the streets seem to be quiet because people are going to work and the wind is quite strong too, but at night, everything turns out to be completely different. Lights are turned on, the beach and the streets are crowded with people and the sound from sellers. As my hotel is located near the beach so I could witness everything from my balcony. I am lucky too because I have a friend who is local there. He is still young but he is trained to be a tour guide in the future so he took me to many interesting places such as Nikko statue, Bao Dai villa...We also enjoyed one night at the beach and it was really interesting.

I spent there only two nights after my Nha Trang trip so I am planning to go there again this October. I will have more time this trip and if you want to go, go with me. You are always welcome!
