Volsdalen Camping Alesund Reviews
On the coast Jun 29, 2015
Volsdalen Camping is a campsite located close by the Norwegian Sea coastline (1,5km east of Ålesund) presenting visitors with magnificent views of the sea and the mountains.
This is another camping site which is open all year round, but full service is provided between May and September.
The entrance/exit to this site is narrow and gated which offers extra protection.
Medium-sized grounds would hold de facto around 20 caravans and slightly bigger amount of tents. The site has further camping cabins and few rooms for rent.
The facilities building containing the kitchen, showers, toilets and the washing room is positioned not far from the tent area.
The kitchen is rather small and equipped with a microwave-cooker and a couple of sinks. Plenty room for food preparation since most of the counter top is empty.
There is no dining area, or benches, on the premises therefore, we had to stand whilst consuming our breakfast (the weather wasn’t dry enough to sit out on the grass).
As expected, the shower is priced at 10 NOK for 5 minutes, and the laundry will cost you 30 NOK both for a washing-machine and a dryer.
Camping does not provide Wi-Fi.
Daily rate for a tent and 2 people plus a car is 120 NOK which is quite cheap, but explains also lack of some of the facilities (a dining area and outdoor seating).
All in all, not a bad place to pitch one’s tent provided it is not too long.
