Visiting Tehuixtla - Tehuixtla - TravBuddy

Tehuixtla is known thru out the whole state for its waterparks such as El Regadillo, Aqua Splash, Las Palmas and the most famous ISSSTEHUIXTLA. This small village is my hometown which is were I was born. In October, the Feria de las Flores is held on the first day of this month. Every 'Colonia' builds a shrine of a virgin such a Virgin Mary and walk from a certain point till they arrive at the church and a mass is held. There are 13 colonies that do this and you can hear music and loud fireworks during this first day of October. After the mass is over, the next activity is the Mojiganga. I like this one because 'Mojiganga' is when a guy dresses as a women and walks from the city center to where the party is going to take place. So A guy dresses up in a dress and walks from business to business house to house asking for bottles of liquor. You cannot give beer, only strong liquor. Well the liquor is kept by them so I guess that's why most guys participate and some guys have walked away with 500 bottles of liquor such as tequila and mezcal which is a little stronger that tequila. So after the Mojiganga takes places, there is a fair where you can buy gifts and stuff for people. So all of this takes place in two weeks.
