Tips on seeing Monument Park on game day Aug 31, 2013
Monument Park is an attraction where the great Yankee players were honored in team history, and should be visited. However, it can very difficult to visit, due to Monument Park usually closing 45 minutes before game time. So this is for the out-of-town visitors, who may not get a second chance to come to Yankee Stadium, on tips of visiting Monument Park.
1. Definitely get there as soon as the gates open, which is usually 2 hours before first pitch. So if the game starts at 7:05 PM, that means the gates should open by 5:05 PM. Check the Yankees web site, or call them, just to be sure.
2. Once you get inside the stadium, go directly to the line and stay there. That’s because there is a cutoff time when people can actually get in line for the attraction, which is different from the cutoff time for last entry. What the cutoff time is, depends on crowds. What happened to me, you can read about that in the blog.
3. Resist the urge to see other aspects of the stadium, which you will have more time for, after seeing Monument Park. Or the alternative, is to take a stadium tour, which should allow you time for Monument Park and the Yankees Museum.
Hopefully, this will be helpful, to see some baseball history. Even if you are not a Yankees fan.
