Vis Hotel Dubrovnik

Hotel Vis has a good location overlooking the see at Lapad Beach. All though it is in Lapad, a 15 minutes bus ride from the old town, it is very convenient. Bus no 4 stops right outside the hotel.

Hotel Vis is nice, the rooms are small, but clean and quiet. The beds are comfortable and the big fluffy pillows lovely. The shower had good water pressure and the water was nice and hot. There is no safe-deposit box in the rooms, but this service is offered at the front desk.

The breakfast buffet was okay. Only negative thing was the fruit juice. It was nothing but watery cool aid. The hotel has a lovely terrace facing the beach. It would have been nice to enjoy breakfast there, but too many bees and cats jumping on the tables made that uncomfortable. On the day of departure I left at 6 am, an hour before breakfast started. Without having asked for it, they had made me a small breakfast bag. What a nice surprise in the morning!

There is no wi-fi in the rooms, but they have an internet corner in the reception. The charge was 20 Kuna (€3) pr 30 minutes.

The reception staff was nice and smily as long as you had no questions or demands. It seemed like they were a bit tired at the end of the tourist season.

Being a hotel at the beach I had not expected to pay extra for the use of a sun bed (25 Kuna) or a parasol (25 Kuna).

Despite the negative things I would probably stay here again. I was busy during the day and only slept there. The average price for a single room was € 100. I booked through Booking.com and paid only € 58 incl breakfast. Not a bad price during the high season.
