Villas Arqueologicas Hotel San Juan Teotihuacan

Until last November (2007) this was part of the Club Med chain of hotels and resorts. I have stayed here seven times. This hotel is walking distance to the entrance at the new museum of Teotihuacan. You will not find a cleaner facility. The decor is charming, the staff could not be more friendly, helpful or skilled. The restaurant's atmosphere is elegant. The menu has numerous interesting selections for each meal with a modest price structure. They have an above average wine list with a modest price structure. The entire restaurant staff are seasoned professionals. The hotel floor plan is designed so that you have a feeling that each room is an individual little casita. Most rooms open onto a large tropical patio with pool. The gift store was not open on my last visit, but has always been stock all the usual sundries plus a very interesting, nearly unique line of gifts, clothing and accessories. The grounds are very well manicured with abundant tropical plantings, a spacious playground with well maintained equipment, a tennis court and a reconstructed Meso-American sunken patio complex. The hotel offers a number of spa services by appointment and a small library. The parking lot is large, gated and guarded.
