American food with great ambience Nov 16, 2012
The Village Tavern is the newest member of the Bistro Group of Restaurants (also known for restaurants like T.G.I. Fridays, Italianni's, Fish & Co., FlapJacks, The Stock Market, Krazy Garlic, etc. in the Philippines).

Village Tavern specializes in classic American cuisine served in a warm, comfortable and inviting atmosphere. While they have mostly sit down dining, there is also a bar at the left side of the restaurant. The views of the Bonifacio Global City skyline (while there is no construction completed across the street) are what one gets if seated near the glass walls on the left side of the restaurant.

Village Tavern is an American restaurant chain established in 1984 in North Carolina, and is inspired by the tradition of the Old World tavern. The concept goes that the tavern is the heart of the community and a hub for information, entertainment and nourishment. The store in the Philippines is the 11th Village Tavern restaurant and the first international store outside of the USA.

The service is fast and friendly. They respond very quickly and methodically. The meals are also quite good, there was quite a selection but they are known for steaks (there was a 40% off promo for steaks when we dined a few days back) and 100% whole wheat Flatbreads. The blackened shrimp appetizer was very flavorful, even the sauce alone made a good dip for bread. Also among the bestseller list are the Crispy Chicken Tacos, which were a bit spicy but nevertheless flavorful. They also had pasta selections, with a different twist to their vongole.

The beverages (bottomless iced tea) were not from any powdered mix, unlike most other restaurant chains which use the commercialized iced tea powder. There is also a wine selection, although we did not go for that - there was only one patron at the bar that time.

All in all, expect to pay about $15-20 per person including dessert, unless you get liquor (and depending on how much one drinks). We were quite satisfied with the food as well as the service. Will definitely return to try out the other items on the menu.
