Touristy restaurant - avoid at all costs! Nov 29, 2008
All tours going to Puebla stop at this place for lunch - and almost every patron has a bad thing to say. To make things worse, most tourist buses plan their day trip such that it's about 3pm by the time you reach Puebla for lunch, and that means you're starving and will eat just about anything from under the table.

So the restaurant itself? Well the ambience is perfect. Excellent. You have a live and awful band playing, who after their song will shove their CDs in your face and ask you to buy it....

But the food itself is a joke. It's not only overpriced, but everything is stale. The hosts are very sweet and helpful. For example, when I said that there were no veg main dishes, she quickly snapped up a quesedilla for me with the brown mole sauce, but the food quality by itself was terrible. I don't spite them, I'll just avoid them if I ever visit Puebla again!

Yeah, I hate these touristy restaurants as well. I've always said that the best places to eat in Mexico are small street carts. Cheap and delicious. These touristy places should be avoided at all costs.

Puebla couldn't be located in a more picturesque setting - snow capped mountains, volcanoes and plains. And Puebla today is known for a variety of things - contributes to the economy of Mexico courtesy the Volkswagon plant on the outskirts of the ci…Villa Rosa . It was 3pm and the food was terrible (see review below). And from there on, we began a walk through the city for a couple of hours. All travel books and websites talk about the churches in this town. Trust me, this is no exagerration… Puebla: the Talavera, the mole and all those churches!
