Top of my list Apr 22, 2011
I fell in love with this hotel the first time I visited it. From then on, whenever I needed a time away from life, a short trip to this lovely place is always the first thing that comes to mind. The resort has a small hotel, several pools, slides, jacuzzi, clean shower rooms, manicured lawns, pretty gardens, shady walks, water playgrounds, view decks, comfortable cabanas with loft, a chapel that could host an intimate wedding, a convenient store, an airconditioned dormitory accommodation of big groups, a small emergency clinic, and my favorite, the Cristina Cafe. I'd always look forward to waking up in the morning and walk a bit to the Cafe for breakfast. Nothing beats having your morning coffee with your fiance, while feeling the cold breeze and looking over the vast skyline of the metro. Almost - "life could never be better". There is something with their bed that soothes your whole being. Though admittedly, the bed is a bit old and not your fancy chiropractic type, I'd always get a good nights sleep. The hotel staff are also well mannered, and well trained. This place is highly recommended for corporate and family events, and for couples' weekend. The location is very convenient too, only a 30-minute drive from the heart of Quezon City, Philippines.

The resort is ok, the hotel, so-so Mar 28, 2009
Located atop the mountainous city of Antipolo, a sleepy city east of Manila is the Villa Cristina Hotel and Resort. The city is about 2 hours away from the Manila airport, and the resort is another 15 minutes away from the city's center. There are limited options for transportation as there are no taxis. An alternative would be tricycles that would be easy to get from the town, although it might be a problem getting out of the vicinity of the resort. It would be best to bring your own car.

It's a small, quaint resort with a lot of gardens and a number of pools. The hotel itself is quite sleepy but the resort itself gives you a number of things to do. Aside from the pools, there is a (cold) outdoor jacuzzi, a karaoke room, billiard table, small restaurant and an outdoor barbecue facility that let's their guests grill on their own. Most of the guests stay for a day trip and there are a number of day huts that can be rented as well.

The twin room is small, maybe 15 sq m, with an air conditioning unit, 14-inch TV (no cable), 2 small beds, no telephones. There is hot water available but limited bathroom amenities: only a small bar of soap and a sachet of shampoo provided.

There aren't much competition in the area and the price seem reasonable. At least they accept credit cards, however, you would still need to leave an ID at the reception. I think it's a family owned business, the receptionist is helpful but I couldn't feel her sincerity. It was nice that we were able to negotiate with our check in and check out time as we arrived very early in the morning.
