Vienna City trip tips Aug 08, 2012
For the people who are going to travel to Vienna in a short time here a few tips from a traveler who's been there a couple of days ago.

First, if you're looking for a nice, budget and quiet place to stay it's an option to book Elisabeth Guesthouse

(Holochergasse no. 17, Vienna, Austria) It lays next to a metro station and it's easy to reach! You dont have to expect any luxary, but for budget travelers its nice enough! (Big room, kitchen, shared bathroom)

I know that when going to Vienna you want to visit Schonbrunn, if you do this do this as early morning! Its the most touristic attraction and theres not that much too see.You can much better visit the zoo next to the palace, it's the oldest in the world en really beautifull, but its a big zoo, so you have to count on a whole day to visit this park.

If you dont want to travel in an touristic hop on hop of bus you can take metro 1,2 or D. These lines lead directly through the city you will see a lot of Vienna this way

A cheap restaurant is: Pizeeria Mafiosi ( reindorfgasse 15)The plus point is that the pizza is really huge! and the price is really low, the big minus point is that the serve staff isnt nice at all, (Just like the biggest part of people in Vienna) if you can accept this is a fine place to eat!

For people who are wondering how the shopping is there: its really nice to shop in Vienna, there are two forever 21!

If you're having any time over in Vienna you really have to go to the Prater! its a free fun park, if you dont wanna go in any attractions you just have to walk over the terrain its amazing!

if you have any more questions, just ask!

There's plenty to see in Vienna, Austria. For starters, I would not avoid the "touristy" areas just because they are labeled as such, people do go see them for a reason. St. Stephen's Cathedral comes to mind, you really don't want to miss it. That whole downtown area is neat to see, with street performers and such. Moving on, there are three palaces right in Vienna that many people only see from the outside. Well, they are equally impressive from the inside! Schloss Hofburg, Schloss Schonbrunn, and Schloss Belvedere are all worth seeing. They are not nearly as crowded as you would think, and they have more to offer than such a palace tour. Schonbrunn has an outdoor maze, a zoo, great views of the city, a chance to watch apple strudel being made, Schlogg Hofburg has history of the royal family, etc. There's also an often missed Freud museum if you're into that kind of thing. For food, check out one of the weinerschnitzel places in town - you can't go wrong with something the locals love to eat!

I totally agree with everything you said! We even ate dinner in a small restaurant in the wine celler of the Hofburg! I have a review of it on here, it was AWESOME!!
