Before Sunrise
Walking around Vienna--what could be easier? Unfortunately the movie was not filmed in order; they get off the trolley in one section and suddenly they’re walking in a cemetery miles away. Although I did find the boat restaurant and the old café where they had the imaginary phon…

We had a very early start to catch a 7.30ish train to Vienna from Graz and had a very interesting chat for part of the way; with an Austrian guy who turned out to be a local teacher. As we already mentioned our timing for this trip couldn't be much worse due to Mayday for which almost all of Europe…

Vienna is IMO one big museum.
After being in Budapest we were a bit reserved on Vienna, but this town so different. We took a taxi to Stephansplatz and and that ride was like we were driving through a museum: Alle the beautiful buildings we passed, it was a pure display of beautiful architecture, …

I spent a week in Vienna and fell in love with its charm. The city is blessed with some of the greatest art collections in the world, fabulous architecture, friendly people and great food. Truly one of my favorite cities on earth.

Good points:
nice city centre, you can walk from one museum/attraction to another quite easily. If you're tired, hop on to the ring train
Original things to do: the Lippizaners, catch an opera if you can (same day tickets for sale)
good food, reasonably priced. Loved the sausages/hot dogs for …

Walk and listen to the music playing on the streets, admire the buildings, have a coffee at Hawelka ... just enjoy the city... Everytime I come to Vienna I feel like I am at home. I already know lots of places. I always take very long walks and feel good that I am there. Old and new, it's all there…

We got up this morning and had breakfast at the hotel before going down to the Spanish Riding School. Lipizanner practice runs from 10 AM until 12 PM, so we were able to take our time and wandered the streets down to the school. Watching the Lipizanners practice was interesting, particu…
