So today was our last day in Vienna. Tonight we were flying to Athens but our flight didn't leave until 11:30pm. We had to check out of our hostel at 11am so we did and we put our bags into the storage and then we had the breakfast that they offer. We had the rest of the day to kill so we went back…

This is together with Munich/München metro my fave system. Even if the stations are not as well designed but the trains - i love them! One of the weirdest trains i rode. It seems to be an underground monster or a huge worm when you are standing at the platform and when a Vienna underground train i…

On my last morning, I went to the Albertina Museum, which I would absolutely reccomend. It is in the centre of the city, but not in the Museum Quarter. I was very impressed with teh museum, although it is an odd mix of things; when I was there, I saw Durers and Michaelangelos in sumptio…

We had a Vienna style? cheese hot dogs which was really good. We don't like it much, but since Patric, staff at the hostel recommended us, so we tried it. It's only 3 euros or so, so not bad. It's on the street in the city. I think we had pasta and etc..I guess we didn't take pictures of other food…

I found that Vienna has a facination with death, and that the city has one of the highest suicide rates in the world. That's difficult to understand, since the city is beautiful and prosperous, and the people don't seem very stressed out. During my walks around town, I've…

Woke up today with a bit of a sore head but then I guess that was my own fault. Did some more walking around today. I love cities where you can just walk around whilst getting lost in the numerous side streets and alleys. THe one thing I will remember about Vienna was how bitterly…

We woke up around 7.30 am to have breakfast in the hotel. Once we finished we decided to visit the Stadtpark. As there was nothing too interesting to see on the way we decided to rent a bicycle. They have this great system where you register your profile and credit card information in an ATM and yo…

On December 2006 being in Prague we decided to take one day to go and see Wien. Of course, it is not possible to get to know such city in one day, but we took our chances. It was cold and windy, so we had some hot wine and walked around the streets. The city was decorated for Christmas. It was very…

The second day I started early with a meeting which lasted until noon and from there I said good bye to my friendly hosts and wanted to see some more of the beautiful white city.
I checked out from the fantastic hotel and left my luggage there for a later pick up. The weather was nice but cold. I…

In February of 2004, I journeyed to Frankfurt, the Rhein Valley, Geneva, Vienna, and Münich for the purpose of closing a Swiss bank account. Vienna was romantic, Münich was charming, and the overnight train ride through the Alps offered a breathtaking feast for the eyes.
