Up we go! Apr 28, 2015
This was dubbed the biggest Ferris wheel in Europe. Housed in a huge theme park, you do not find that many tourists here. Entrance to theme park is free but you have to pay if you want to play a game or do the rides – which is absolutely fair. Therefore the prices for souvenirs appears cheaper in the shops within the theme park grounds as compared to those nearer to the main gate (opposite Madamme Trussards’s) or Mozart shops downtown.

The ticket costs Euro9.50 per person. The individual cabins are made of wood, like the way it was originally built. You have the option of having your photo taken at their photobooth and you can buy the photo for approx Euro10 after your ride. It was quite a long queue as it was Saturday afternoon and each cabin is big enough to accommodate about 16 people at one time. There are also special cabins where you can dine (more like drink and be served a snack) complete with a big table for everyone on board. When you are up in the air, you get a panaromic view of the city and you can finally see just how huge this theme park really is.

I would recommend this ride especially to people travelling with kids or couples.

A landmark in Vienna - Wienerriesenrad (Vienna's Giant Ferris Wheel) Jun 13, 2006
If you like the Ferris Wheel, visiting the Wienerriesenrad should be part of your itinerary in the city.

Visit the Prater and take a ride in the Wienerriesenrad. The Prater is a theme park and the Wienerriesenrad (Giant Ferris Wheel) is the main attraction as well as it's a landmark of the city.

My suggestion is going at the evening when it’s dark, in order to get a nice view of the city.

The entrance to the park is free, but you have to pay for the ride. Just go there, enjoy a peaceful ride and relax while you are getting a nice view of the city.
