We have to get up at 6.30 am, but after sleeping like a baby all night long this isn’t too much of a problem. We go to the restaurant on the first floor to find out that breakfast in the Vien Dong Hotel is served in the restaurant on the 10th floo…Vien Dong Hotel is served in the restaurant on the 10 th floor, so up we go again. The buffet looks pretty good and we order a pho (this is a clear bouillon with noodles, some vegetables and two or three small pieces of beef… From the heavenly Chinese temples to the hell of the Vietnam war |

7:30 opstaan en klaar voor vertrek.
9:00 vertrek naar schiphol en daar aangekomen meteen inchecken bij de balie van Cathay Pacific voor vlucht CX 270. Dit duurt lang. Want voor Trudy is geen plaats gereserveerd.
Na wat verschuiven en omboeken kunn…Vien Dong hotel. Het ligt in Quan 1 (District 1), het backpackers gedeelte van de stad. Hier mogen de bars later open blijven dan in de rest van de stad waar alles om middernacht sluit. We zetten de spullen op de kamer, gaan even lekker… Opweg naar Vietnam. |

It’s 10.30 am when we land in Ho Chi Minh City, next to the runway quite some helicopters are waiting for their next mission (nowadays peaceful I guess), but it still gives me the feeling I’m flying right into the Francis Ford Coppola movie “A…Vien Dong Hotel which is located in Quan 1 (District 1), the backpackers area of the city. Here bars can stay open longer, while everywhere else in the city they have to close at midnight.
