Victorville Overview

Victorville is located off the I-15 Freeway and old Route 66, in the south western part of California's Mojave Desert, approximately 30 miles south of Barstow, CA and 30 miles north of San Bernardino and Ontario, CA through the Cajon Pass. The city is the focus city of the Victorville metro area which also consists of the smaller surrounding cities of Hesperia, Apple Valley, and Adelanto as well as other small communities.
Victorville has been used in several Hollywood films to include Kill Bill: Volume 2 and The Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift. It was later discovered that the first part of Citizen Kane was written there.
For people passing through, there are plenty of motels, hotels and restaurants. There are several opportunities for shopping at the town’s mall or shopping centers around the city. Some recreational activities include golfing at the Green Tree Golf Course or arcade games and rides at Scandia.
The former George Air Force Base is located in Victorville, but was closed in the early 1990's and has since been revamped into the Southern California Logistics Airport, as well as the Federal Correctional Complex Victorville, a group of high, medium, and minimum security federal prisons run by the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
If you have some free time, take a stroll down Old Town Victorville. Visitors can check out Veteran's Memorial on the corner of Seventh Street and Forrest Ave, the Route 66 Museum on D Street, and the Old Victor School on Sixth Street.
