Great Steakhouse in downtown Walnut Creek Mar 29, 2008
The restaurant is housed in a historic 1891 train depot that's been renovated quite nicely. One of the rooms is an antique Pullman train car that you could dine in. The bar area is cozy and well stocked offering some 20 microbrews.

The atmosphere is perfect - you feel like you are in a ritzy mansion with high, comfy dark leather chairs, upholstered booths, animals on the wall and a roaring fire. Very eclectic, interesting decor that is both masculine and upscale at the same time.

When you walk in to the restaurant, you may notice that there is a "left side" of the restaurant and a "right side" dining room. I ate in the dining room, but before leaving, asked to take a tour of the left part of the building, which was actually built on Walnut Creek's 1891 train depot and features an authentic (converted) Pullman car in the restaurant. You can reserve one of the very private booths in the car ahead of time for a romantic dinner - they even have a larger booth for private parties of up to about 7. I have been to a few company Christmas parties here and we have dined in the larger rooms.

All of the entrees here are melt in your mouth delicious and worth going for when you're in the mood for splurging. Great desserts too!
