Viðareiði Overview

Viðareiði is the farthest place from Torshavn, hte Færoes capital, that can be reched by car without a ferry. Across Streymoy - bridge to Eysturoy, undersea tunnel to Borðoy and causeway to Viðoy, where Viðareiði is at the north.

In front of you is an impressive cirque of mountains, preventing you from reaching the very tip. To the east are views across the stormy Atlantic to the outlying islands of Fugloy and Svinoy. To the west is the village itself with far calmer water and views to the island of Kunoy.

A delightful spot, well worth the trip, even if you don't like tunnels!
