Via rail will take you to Jasper Ab on Train #1; you must de-train at Jasper and then overnight in Jasper and then catch

the train to Prince Rupert via Prince George the next day in the afternoon. The train in winter has no dining car; take food from Jasper for lunch and supper as you don't arrive in Prince George until late. You have to book a hotel in Prince George as the train over nights and the hotels are within walking distance. Early the next morning back on the train for some spectacular scenery; take your camera. Typically, a coach car and a scenic "dome" car for excellent viewing. The train station is not close to the downtown of Prince Rupert and a taxi is needed (share one). Suggestion; take the ferry through the inside passage to Port Hardy. Overnight in winter and all day in the summer. Wonderful scenery. Food in the ship cafeteria not bad but of the fast food type. Overnight there are some berths;some have showers; first come first serve. Port Hardy; bus to Victoria for a great view of island scenery on the road; the passenger train is suspended unfortunately.
