Via Della Pace New York Reviews
Nov 15, 2007
Via Della Pace is an Italian restaurant located in the East Village. From what I understand the restaurant has two floors, the bottom floor being used more for private parties. The atmosphere is dark as the room is mostly lit by candles, but not so dark that you can’t see who you are with and what you are eating. The first floor is also rather cozy and the seating can be snug, but that is pretty common in NYC.
The wine list is pretty good and the prices on both the wine and food are very reasonable. The food was great, not one person at the table had a complaint and everyone finished their plate. The pasta is handmade and delicious!
The wait staff was also fabulous, they were all very friendly and very attentive. They even brought out free dessert for one of my friends who was having a birthday and kept relighting her piece of cake for photos. The guy who served us really was very cool and had a great sense of humor.
My only complaint would be that they only take cash, which I didn’t see posted anywhere. But there are plenty of ATMs in the area so it isn’t a big deal, especially if you know in advance.
