true Cuban style restaurant May 25, 2015
All of the menu items—from the deliciously strong Cuban coffee to the fried bananas to any of the entrees—are made in ‘true Cuban style'.

The most popular dishes on the menu are the Lechon Asado, a Cuban Style Roasted Pork marinated in Versailles unique garlic mojo criollo sauce, and the Famoso Pollo Versailles (Versailles Famous Garlic Chicken). It’s a house specialty that is a roasted half chicken marinated in garlic sauce and garnished with plenty of sliced white onions.

There is also a wonderful Sandwich Cubano, Pargo Entero Frito (whole deep fried red snapper), Camarones Enchilados (Shrimp in Cuban Creole Sauce), Ropa Vieja (Shredded Beef), and more. The Paella Estilo Versailles has huge chunks of scallops, shrimp, mussels, chicken, crab, halibut and calamari.

Try the Versailles Style Homemade Sangria or any of the Milk Shakes—the Mango and the Marney are both good choices, and provide a great counter balance to the vibrant flavors of the food.

Tasty side dish - Platanos Maduros or Yuca Rellena, served with a cilantro cream sauce.

Versailles Restaurant is also a good option for those with special dietary needs, offering both low-fat and gluten-free items on the menu. Round out your meal with a little tipple — Versailles Restaurant has a terrific drink list, including beer, wine, and more. The whole family can enjoy a meal at Versailles Restaurant with its kid-friendly fare. You'll find lots of space for you and the whole gang to spread out at Versailles Restaurant, which accommodates plenty of large groups.

Arrive fashionably early for your pick of tables — the restaurant does not accept reservations. Diners who appreciate a no-frills environment come to Versailles Restaurant in jeans and a hoodie. Or, take your food to-go.

Those driving to Versailles Restaurant can choose to find street parking or leave their vehicle in the nearby lot.

Prices tend towards the moderate side, with the average tab at Versailles Restaurant running under $30 per person.

The name is a little strange for a Cuban restaurant, but the food makes up for it.

Versailles is in an unassuming building on Venice Blvd. next to an army surplus store, but the food and atmosphere are both very good.

The staff is well dressed, polite, and might even be cuban.... although I didn't ask. Service was fast even though I was there at peak dinner time.

As for the food, I had a beef dish with rice. I don't remember the exact price, but I believe it was approximately $10. While it certainly wasn't world class cuisine, it was a pretty good dish and quite a bit of food for a reasonable price. I left feeling full and content.

On a side note, I also left my credit card there for over a week after forgetting it, but they handed it to me within seconds when I finally came back and asked for it!

Love this place! If you love garlic and onions you will be in heaven! Very cheap for the amount of food you get, great service, and great drinks as well.
