After the Al Rocol Fraciacorta (French) Winery and Cantine tour, tasting and luncheon, we headed out via the party bus to Verona. We checked into our hotel for the night and immediately took a cab downtown so Jenny could go shopping before the stores all closed within an hour. After the…

I took us a looong time to get to Verona by bus. We took off from Erfurt train station, where our shuttle bus picked us up, at 8:00 am. We stopped every 2 hours for a quick break.Near the German-Austrian border we were able to see how far down the snow had already come in the past couple of days. I…

having left venice behind, it was a couple hour's drive to verona, where we were looking forward to some respite, a candle-lit dinner, and a shower. When in Verona, find the "Piazza Bra," with its arena and broad pedestrian square with dozens of restaurants, cafes, and shops. This is the best place…

Well I’m pretty tired following last night’s snore-fest as I stumble on to the 8.15 Regionale train to Verona. One plus for Italy so far is the cost of train travel. After haemorrhaging Euros for nearly a month railing around Europe (yeah, I know, I know I really SHOULD have got a E…

Verona is a very beautiful city that is probably missed off a lot of peoples itinary when travelling through Italy. Perhaps this is why it still has it's charm and most of the tourist groups can be avoided quite easily. Our train wasn't leaving till later on so we walked back into the c…

From the outset we knew we were going to enjoy Verona. One of the first things we appreciated was that we didn't get hopelessly lost trying to find the city centre and were soon scouring for a hotel. Even though there is a driving ban in central areas, if you're a hotel guest you can get a pas…

Verona, Italy & Grenoble, France are my two favourite little cities so far. The feel is totally different from big cities. This two cities have a character which I admire. Filled with restaurants and most importantly, the people are very relaxed and friendly! It makes you feel like one of them. But then this is my opinion, J

Tonight, it was terrible. Suddenly, we both woke. First tickings of rain. Unfortunally, it did not stay with only tickings. Very bad weather, rain and lots of wind, unpredicted. And we had all our stuff outside the tent! Rescue operation "out to in" was completed with wet backs. Uneasily we did get…
