Verona Trattoria Petaling Jaya Reviews
Verona Trattoria: Authentic Italian Food That Wouldn't Hurt the Wallet Sep 07, 2012
We were at Verona Trattoria located on Section 17, Petaling Jaya a couple of weeks ago to celebrate our dear friend's Birthday. Happy to share that the usual me who isn't Italian food aficionado is pretty impressed with this restaurant. Not only do they serve reasonably priced good food, pleasant atmosphere and the service acceptable but to top it off Chef Enzo, who's the head chef is an Italian. A glance at him will sort of convince one that they're in safe hands.
For starters, we ordered Jamon Serrano on rock melon salad and grilled eggplant in Marinara sauce. Then, for main, we ordered squid ink Tagliatelle, roast pork belly with Rosemary sauce, spinach and ricotta cheese Ravioli, seafood Risotto and finally for dessert, Vanilla Panna Cotta. Truthfully, I think Chef Enzo made a good choice by pairing Jamon with rock melon instead of the usual prosciutto as Jamon is much more intense compared to prosciutto due to a longer aging period. The eggplant dish was very flavourful, squid ink Tagliatelle was refreshing, roast pork belly was really crispy and seafood Risotto was done to perfection. Again, I have to compliment the chef for a light and nicely balanced ravioli. Nothing like those too creamy or overly prepared grotesque type. The icing on the cake was their Vanilla Panna Cotta. The Panna Cotta was smooth, creamy and well flavored with Vanilla beans.
Most starters and desserts are priced below RM20 while main dishes are priced below RM40. Corkage fee is RM15. Overall, we are please with what this restaurant has to offer. Please remember to make reservation before stopping by. Buon appetito!
