Stunning Apr 07, 2011
Constructed in a Romanesque style and built during the latter half of the twelfth century, the cathedral in Verona is a rather impressive and handsome building. The main chapel is beautifully done; I really thought the curved shape and structure that faced you was rather innovative and eye-catching. Elsewhere, the chapels are really beautifully decorated, and the high paintings and lashings of expensive stone really makes you feel as if you are visiting a grand church in Rome. Although the artists aren’t that well known, the talent that was used was mainly from Verona or the immediately surrounding areas, which makes it a rather local cathedral. Seriously worth a quick visit if you are heading to Verona.
