This is a return trip for me, was down here with the buds by motorcycles. Came down this time as a last minute trip with the family and the new dog. If you like the beach this is one place to be as Cape Hatteras is a National Park along the Atlantic with numerous sites for outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, hiking etc. Local history and light houses abound also.

We flew from Orlando to Newark then drove to CT, VT, Montreal, Ottawa, Smith Falls, Perth, Toronto, Niagara Falls, Cortland NY, Richfield Springs NY, Westfield NJ, then flew back home to Orlando form Newark again.
