Venice is like as they say a "romantic place". There is no problem finding places and good Italian food to eat. They are pretty much all walking distance, they are everywhere (shopping too). It is a very unique city, love how its surrounded by the canal. It would be very useful to know basic Italian words to get around as soon as you land at the airport.

We’re on the road again having left Venice about two hours ago. I’m guessing we are two hours away from Florence, our stop for the next couple days. This past September I took a trip to Europe wich included Venice, Florence, Rome, Mykonos, Santorini, and Athens. This was only my sencond plane ride ever so I'll admit I was somewhat dreading the LONG ride to Italy, but that wasn't going to s…Italy I figured I must learn to at least drink it without making a face... unfortunately, I didn't "train" enough and my taste for wine did not change when I finally got to Italy. We considered sleeping in Hostels and trains, booking our own flights… My Italian Wonderland |

Since starting this 30 day bus pass thing, there’s been once city at the top of my list: Venice. Finally I’ve been able to book a ticket there.
So why is a great adventurer like myself so obsessed with visiting the world’s…Italy … but only for a couple of hours-- I just visited a city near the airport… No, I haven’t been to Venice or Rome … blah, blah, blah…”

Tarvisio is the first town after crossing the border into Italy. There was a bit of stop here for passport control and clearing customs.
