In Venice at all the little boutiques on the sidewalk they try to nab you with knock offs just like in NYC. But there is also plenty of high end fashion stores with pricy clothes if thats what you're looking for. The prices for food was $$ but where in Europe isnt the food expensive? other than that def. watch your purse for pickpockets..they are usually women and come and ask you if you "speaka english". ( dont fall for it ). Also in venice there are really no cars and roads so make sure you have enough euros or visa for buying passes for the water ferry and taxis that get you from certain places in venice.
