The cheapest yet great acommodation in Pristina Aug 24, 2010
This place is a really nice place to stay if you are visiting Pristina. It is cheap, safe and clean. It is the cheapest place you can stay in Pristina because there are no hostels there. The owner ("The Professor") is a kind/honest person who speaks good english. I rated this place poor in fun because it is a guesthouse and you don’t have a common room or anything like that. The guesthouse is located not in the center of the city but come on! You can’t expect everything, you can easily walk to the center, it is no far.

I recommend this place to anyone travelling to Pristina,

Velania Guest House Apr 04, 2009
The guest house is located a little bit out of town in an area where the wealthy people of Pristina lives. It is right next to the house of the former president of Kosovo. The way from the guest house to town is easy because it is almost downhill all the way to the centre of Pristina because of the way the roads are constructed this unfortunately means the way back from town is uphill which is a bit more annoying. When you get to the guesthouse your best bet is probably a taxi from the airport or bus station because it can be a bit tricky to find the house at first.

The owner of the house actually rents out rooms in his own large house and in a house next door. The rooms in his private house are all equipped with cable TV. And there are two shared bathrooms and showers and a communal kitchen with free coffee all day. There is also free internet on a shared computer - but given a large number of students seems to be attracted to Kosovo to study nation building the computer is quite busy. If you have a laptop it may be possible to get connected via a modem but the owner is generally very friendly and helpful but not particular fast so be patient.

If you can live with the communal bathrooms you are probably better off in this building than the one next door which according to some of the people staying there were a bit dead socially.
