This hidden gem boasts of Rodin's largest collections outside of Paris Jul 15, 2016
The museum was founded by the brewer Carl Jacobsen (1842-1914) and has a permanent collection, which contains bout 10.000 artworks distributed in the two main departments: the antique Department (Northern Europe’s biggest collection of antique art, both Egyptian, Greek, Etruscan and Roman works that encompass a span of 3500 years of art and history), and the Modern Department (Danish painting and sculpture of the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as French art of the same period). The highlight for me though is 35 sculptures by Rodin. It's been a month since visiting and I'm still in a daze as how this museum is so under the radar. It's brilliant! The only red flag is the cafeteria that's ridiculously expensive. So expensive it's not even funny.
