Europe 2005: Vatican City Travel Photos
posted by:

In the fall semester of 2005 I had the chance to live in Valbonne, France while I was studying. It was this that gave me my jumpstart in travelling. The chance to have a place I could come back to while I was in Europe made much easier for me to travel the continent pretty much every weeked. Not only did I visit some cities outside France, but I also got the chance to visit some nice French cities and towns along the way. Evidently Paris was at the top ofthe list.

The day we decided to go back to Vatican City and see St. Peter's and The Vatican Museum was by far our best in Rome! St. Peter's is amazing but it's the Vatican Museum that takes the cake!!!!! But I'm getting ahead of myself. After a breakfast of cookies and plum yogurt from the market a few door…

Rainy day at Vatican City!
posted by:
Feb 03, 2009 – Feb 28, 2009
Today we went to Vatican City. It was a typical rainy mid-February day. We went around 11:30am. The good thing about it being rainy is that is wasn't jam packed with tourists. St Peters Square was just a short 10 minute taxi ride from the hotel.  The Square was amazing as expected. And inside …

I'm embarrassed to admit that I was extremely ignorant about the Vatican. I thought it was just a big church and a couple of offices for all the priests and some warehouses with the paintings that Robert Langdon stole.I had no idea about the Vatican Museum and had thought the Sistine Chapel was par…

Of the group from last night, a couple of us decided to get up early and head over to the Vatican, in hopes of seeing the Pope.  Some had told us he was out of town, but we had heard to the contrary...oh well, it was worth a look.  We jumped on the subway at the train station and then wal…

I hate waiting in lines

If I had known how much time would be spent waiting in lines today, I would have taken some anti-cranky pills first.  We got off the metro and walked over to the Vatican Museum, surprised to already see a line forming considering the museum didn't open for another 20 minutes.  So we got i…

A visit to St. Peters Square

The enormity of St. Peter's Basilica left me speechless. I stood in front of it for more than an hour and appreciated it's grandeur. This is the largest Catholic church I've ever seen! Come to think of it, it's the greatest church in Christendom.  I spent my Easter morning here, strolled aroun…
