I woke up and had some breakfast and was determined not to be too downbeat from the previous night. I was off to see Vatican City and the Sistine Chapel, something I've always planned on seeing, and that was making me very cheerful. My plan was for an early start as everything I'd read …

Rome, Italy -› Vatican City, Italy -› …
So today I added another country to my list of visited countries. Vatican City is a sovereign state and regarded as the smallest country in the world. But apart from a statistic it is also a place which I personally had mixed feelings about visiting.
I have no problems with faith…

Warsaw, Poland -› Fiumicino, Italy -› …
This is going to be a busy day. We are going to try to see the highlights of the Vatican Museums and from what I’m reading that’s quite an undertaking as there is very much to see there. From there I'd like to visit St. Peter's Basilica again and take another look at the Pietà.&nbs…

The Vatican City was beautiful and like many other sights in Rome, it was packed packed packed wih tourists! Only spent not more than half an hour there after we took some pictures. We were just so tired and out of energy. I definitely couldn't miss the Vatican before finishing my Roman trip!

I love the Pope and I'm not even Catholic. Yeah, the Vatican Museum was awesome...Sistine Chapel, Raphael's 'School of Athens', and Laocoon....but the Pope...wow. That guy has a following. I mean...a huge following. Our group was supposed to visit St. Peter's Basilica today.…

Oh well,
That is what made it less crowded most likely. Wow, the church is so massive! It was almost overwhelming to take in the beauty of everything inside and out. I was really in awe of the peace I felt here.
We had spent a good hour inside St. Peter's Basilica, l…

After 10 years twiddling my thumbs in Birmingham I'm now 14 months into a grand journey around this wonderful & widest of worlds! I've been all over (well a small slice of the planet anyway) with occasionally little rhyme or reason but have finally washed up in the country longed for by my dreams... INDIA! Please join me and give further purpose to my steps by smiling any time at my words, thoughts and pics; it really means a lot to this happy though oft-lonely traveller ;D

As a Christian believer , seeing St. Peter's Square from afar gave outright mixed emotions. I felt honoured and privileged. I was touched and humbled in more ways than one. Outside the basilica, people were not minding the heat of the sun as they queue the long…

It might be the smallest country, but it’s full of art! I wanted to see as much as possible; therefore I woke up early and left the hostel really really early. I might have been in a hurry, but didn't forget not to wear shorts and wear some kind of sleeves, so I'd be able to go into t…

Valbonne, France -› Antibes, France -› …
In the fall semester of 2005 I had the chance to live in Valbonne, France while I was studying. It was this that gave me my jumpstart in travelling. The chance to have a place I could come back to while I was in Europe made much easier for me to travel the continent pretty much every weeked. Not only did I visit some cities outside France, but I also got the chance to visit some nice French cities and towns along the way. Evidently Paris was at the top ofthe list.
