Vatersay Island Reviews
Vatersay Island Jun 13, 2006
I really have to mention Vatersay even if I have written a review for the Outer Hebrides.
The westernmost permanently inhabited place in Scotland, Vatersay is linked to Barra by a causeway completed in 1991.
At low tide, the island is also linked to the islet of Uineasan to the east.
What makes Vatersay special is the most fantastic beach here!
Probably the finest beach in the UK, you would easily mistake a picture here for the caribbean or somewhere more exotic!
There is huge amount to see on Barra and Eriskay but the beach at Vatersay has to go down as the star of the show!
