Aye aye.... it's the most visited museum in Scandinavia! Oct 23, 2017
The warship Vasa is a thing of beauty. It set sail sometime in the 1600s with the hope that it would be one of the country's great. But never really got too far, hit a rock and thus sunk the nation's dream. It was recovered over 300 years later, surprisingly intact!

The history of the boat is provided on the Wiki page, so need for me to regurgitate that.

That said, here's my personal opinion - the museum is cheap and fairly easy to get to. And thank God, it has a cafe as well. Its about 7 levels, with the basement consisting of some artwork replicas found on the ship.

The ship is in simply amazing condition and gives you a very good idea of how much not only goes into building a ship (back in the day, with limited technology) but also how big it looks so close up.

I liked the movie as well which shows how a gentleman (from Europe) who specialised in these operations came to Sweden to recover the ship. Very informative.

The only thing I didn't like is the overpriced cafe and the rude waiters there!

Seven levels is quite a lot...the ship should have been in the bottom one!
