Vara's Beach House

I had such a great time there

If you after backpacker stye but with an unbeatable location with a nice beach view... this is your place

The facilities are simple but functional and everything is clean

I might say that the most important thing there...which made the difference is the warm of the people in there... specially Girlie her husband and her sweet lil boy...

This is technically a hostel, with dorm rooms and semi-private rooms available, but they also have a few private beach condos. I opted for the condo and it was great, with my own kitchenette, fridge, bathroom, and large bed. Not many places in the world you can have a condo on a gorgeous beach for about $500 (US) per week! Only complaint is the hot water is hit or miss, so expect some cold showers. Vara's also has a set of hillside bungalows which are full-feature units but away from the beach.

Muri Beach is cozy, attractions and restaurants nearby, and the bus will take you anywhere.

I stayed at the beachside about a year ago now and I really loved it.

As the description says its right on the beach, the room I stayed in with four others was basic but had a good bed and only cost a few NZ dollars a night. More expensive options are also available like private rooms.

Furthermore the hostel offers all the basic facilities like: internet, (albeit slow) laundry, cooking etc.

The people working there are all really friendly, and during my stay there was a great atmosphere.

Only downside is that the supermarket is quite far to walk, however renting a scooter is cheap, and the ideal way of getting around. (the island is slightly to big to walk around) taking the bus is also a option, the bus station is only a minute walk from Vara's beach house.

All in all this hostel is a great place to stay and relax.
